Project Description:
Located in Newport Beach, this casually elegant home is the summer weekend residence of a well-traveled couple who adore golf. Looking at it today it is hard to believe that when they purchased the home several years ago, it was sliding down onto the golf course located below.
After the proper repairs had been made to the foundation and the slope had been stabilized, Deanna and her team helped to redesign the house from the foundation up. During the planning phase, the firm's in-house "virtual" design team literally re-drew the interior of the home in 3-D, adding custom architectural details to ceilings, walls, doorways and fireplaces while providing pages of detailed specifications to the builder.
The beautiful kitchen cabinets and luxurious vanity in the master bath were custom designed by the DRI, Inc. team, as well as the new frames around the homeowners' extensive art collection. Faux work and specialty painting on walls, ceilings and stair railings were created by Aliso Viejo-based Tichy Design.
The effect is contemporary Mediterranean with exotic touches of Chinese elements for contrast. This brilliant use of color and texture provides a sense of harmony and flow from room to room, both indoors and out, with all-new custom lighting and a state-of-the-art sound system providing drama and mood. Subtle recessed lighting accentuates the custom architectural and ceiling details.
From the custom-designed front gate to the ocean-view terrace in back, this spectacular home has been transformed from a challenging reconstruction project into a showplace of comfort and classical style that the homeowners will enjoy for years to come.
